Mr M and I haven’t been doing very many fancy date nights since a couple of years ago because our priorities shifted as the relationship progressed forward. This makes things extra delightful when Mr M arranges for a special treat once in a while… and I believe that I cherish his efforts a lot more in those instances as well.
After watching those daily fireworks by famous Italian opera Aida from our living room for the past month, Mr M and I decided to catch their final show at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair last Sunday. Boy was it a feast for the eyes and ears! The stage was perched on top of the water at Sydney Harbour, with the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House as part of the magnificent backdrop. The opera was performed to perfection and their costumes did not disappoint. I’m not the most cultured person around but I would definitely love to learn more about the opera/theatre space. Good conversation starters I say!
Mr M and I bundled ourselves up (just like those characters in South Park) to battle the chill. I was beyond grateful that he brought his granny square blanket with him even after I shunned his good intentions. Oops sorry husband! I was also fortunate enough to listen to that tiny voice in my head to layer up as I was thinking of just wearing my textured crop top, mid-rise jeans and a coat. I had just watched a program based in Norway a couple of weeks ago that showed the Norwegians wearing summer clothes with ease in 12 degree celsius weather and I thought I could do the same! I guess I was being overly wishful there after being accustomed to mild winters here for years.
I thoroughly enjoyed our date night and I’m looking forward to our next one already!
