Bursting At the Seams

If there’s one thing that I would have done differently when it came to dressing my pregnant self, it would be to flaunt that belly much earlier on.

I was totally bursting at the seams in this linen dress (and I thought I was big here!). I had avoided buying anything ‘maternity’ at the end of the pregnancy because I didn’t want to be confined by the boundaries after mini M’s birth. In fact the term maternity fashion has always made me cringe even though I used it so much here on the blog and ig for the lack of a better description.

This blog post ‘how to get dressed if you’re pregnant (but hate maternity clothes)’ on Man Repeller caught my attention last week and I could only wish that the post was out a few months earlier. It’s so filled with golden nuggets! If there’s one thing that I would have done differently when it came to dressing myself, it would be to flaunt that belly much earlier on. Most people that I see regularly didn’t even know that I was expecting 6 months in. I mean I wasn’t ashamed of that little bun in the oven but somehow I was more inclined to go oversized. Why?!! Now that I’ve seen this purple (it’s not even my colour!) draped dress, I do wonder why I hadn’t been more adventurous! Agh.

For 2018 I would like to expand my colour palette in the way of personal style. I’m not going to give up my neutrals but I also don’t want to miss out on the fun that comes with wearing cherry colours! I’ll get back to you on that lol.

Do you have any fashion resolution for next year? I would like to hear about it.
