Classic Gentleman

I’m not usually a girly girl so an occasional touch of masculinity in my dressing is rather welcoming.

There’s just something about loafers and brogues that captures my fancy. I’m not usually a girly girl so an occasional touch of masculinity in my dressing is rather welcoming.

I’ve been stalking Dieppa Restrepo’s classic gentleman’s inspired leather footwear for the longest time but never took the plunge to make them mine. Last month however, Mr M managed to purchase a pair secretly and lugged them across many oceans to Cape Town to surprise me over there! I was beyond happy and certainly felt underserving of them because I wasn’t expecting such an extravagant gift for no reason. I did mention my admiration for this particular style in one of my #5riday posts and I was just super touched that he would take note of such an unimportant desire. Anyway, these gaston crocodile loafers are definitely my most treasured pair out of a small collection of good shoes that I own now.

For this weekend look, I layered my highly rotated crop top (1/2/3/4) over my striped midi dress (1/2) hence turning a one piece into a 2 piece look. The beauty of this outfit is that it could totally work for the office as well by swapping the flats for some pumps. I also like the consistency between the skirt, hat and bag (all of them featured horizontal lines). It’s subtle but provide visual coherence to the look.

Have a fantastic Tuesday!
