What can I say? Family Affairs tugged my heartstrings the moment I saw their amazing creations. I don’t normally go crazy over vintage designs but Family Affairs was too difficult to resist. Every piece was incredibly charming, refreshing and carefree.
Family Affairs is the joint effort between mom and daughter duo Kaya and Nina Egli. Their transatlantic partnership is a really special one with Kaya based in Switzerland and Nina based in New York. Not only hasn’t the distance fazed them in any capacity, together they managed to create some of the most coveted designs around via Skype and snail mails!
Of course, Family Affair’s gorgeous pieces also came with solid experience. Kaya Egli is an accomplished fashion designer who was once employed as the in house designer for The Beatles’ iconic Apple shop in London. Nina on the other hand was running her own acclaimed jewellery line Toujours Toi prior. By recognising, roping each other’s strengths in fashion and design and just simply trusting each other, Kaya and Nina’s combined experience has no doubt been able to shine through their beautiful pieces.
Family Affairs had been featured in well known publications like Vogue, Nylon and W.
Their designs can be found in some of the top fashion stores in the world like Opening Ceremony in NY and LA, Beams Japan and of course now, at WLLWPOPUP!
