NYFW is, or was the thing that got many fashionistas excited recently. Ever since the glamourisation of street style (cue Tommy Ton, Scott Schuman, and Vanessa Jackman, to name a few), fashion weeks haven’t been the same. It is during this season that style makers from all nations flock to the fashion capitals in the world to get photographed and be admired.
Admittedly, I’ve been refreshing the style.com and a myriad of other fashion websites every chance that I have to consume fashion images that are churning out in full speed (I’m checking out LFW now). As appalling as this may sound, I actually enjoy looking at personal styles on the streets a bit more than the runway shows. I think it’s because the premise for street style is more relaxed and unfussy, and the variety of tastes just make the photos a lot more exciting. Many people at NYFW were experimental with the way they put their outfits together and some examples definitely deserve a spot on the inspirational board. Although I don’t think I would ever dress in the exaggerated manners that were on display, there are certainly elements which could be applicable to my daily dressing to spruce things up a little.
Without further ado (though this may already seem like old news), these are some of my picks for NYFW.
