So We’ve Been Busy Lately…

I’m playing catch up now with these overdue photos, taken while I was still carrying mini M in my belly. We were out and about that weekend, determined to make the most of the remaining freedom we had before the arrival of our little bundle.

Yes guys, we’ve been busy tending to the needs of a newborn for the last couple of weeks and I gotta say that the transition towards parenthood is by far the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced. While those chubby cheeks, sweet baby scent and buttery soft skin are delightful, I’ve never felt as lost as I am now. This little human being that we brought to the world (and are fully responsible for) has completely turned my life topsy turvy. The normality that I once knew has become non-existent and the notion of having a routine or schedule needed to fall by the wayside. My day now solely revolves around mini M’s feeding and sleeping demands and until a pattern is formed, I would likely be spending a good chunk of time at home. Actually I’m feeling like a zombie myself so chilling at home really isn’t such a bad idea. Many a times I do wonder whether I would eventually get there’ like many of my friends who are currently savouring and nailing motherhood. It might take some time but I know I’ll eventually find my feet in this journey that I’m so privileged to be a part of.

I will try and be as consistent as I can about blogging, which I’m only able to attempt when mini M naps in between feeds. I’m envisioning Girl with Flowers to evolve and become a bit of a ‘mommy blog’ since becoming a mama to my little boy is my identity now and consumes almost every minute of my every day. I plan to shed the perfectly rose-tinted posts on parenthood but instead keeping things as real as possible. I sincerely hope that you would find strength and comfort in my experiences and thoughts as I learn to become a mother myself.

Please let me know if you have anything in particularly that you would like me to blog about. I may not be an expert on the subject matter but I’m happy to explore new and difficult topics as we do life together in this virtual community.

Till next time!

xx
