T-Shirt and Jeans

Are you a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl?

All through my teenage and uni years, I scorned at the idea of pairing a humble round collared t-shirt with jeans because I saw that as old-fashioned, uncreative and ‘stuck in the 90s’.  I thought t-shirts were only meant to serve practical functions like soaking up perspiration when exercising or cleaning the house.

But my perception started to change in recent years. Maybe it’s an ‘age’ thing, you know how things that were deemed as unacceptable become ok all of a sudden? Or maybe I have begun to romanticise the non-chalent, edgy ‘off duty’ look that’s plastered all over fashion blogs nowadays… Whatever it is, the t-shirt and denim ensemble has become my favourite go-to whenever I’m not in the mood to be fancy. There’s a tiny requirement though, the t-shirt has got to have the right elements on it…

and that is why I adore this t-shirt so much. Some people might find this t-shirt a little childish but I absolutely love it! Yes I’m one of those people who would pet your cute dog without consent.  Mr M got this t-shirt for me as a consolation to not being able to own a real lab, yet. One day that dream shall become a reality. For now, I’ll just make do with this realistic dog portrait.

I’m thinking of purchasing this t-shirt designed by popular blogger Julie Sarinana of Sincerely Jules. It’s a little self-indulgent but witty without a doubt especially when it so perfectly describes the notorious phenomenon in blogsphere. Furthermore, it puts in my mind an image of a French trying to write in English but slightly missing the mark!

  1. Oh yes – I’m definitely a jeans and tee girl. For years I just felt boring and thought that there was something bad about wearing that particular combo (you know all those TV shows where they do makeovers…). But then it hit me – I love the jeans and tee look, and it’s my style. 🙂

  2. I feel like I’m not “effortless” enough to pull off a simple jeans + tee combo, but I do like it on other people. You nailed it, ofc, love those booties too.
