As the year is drawing to a close, like many others, I’ve started to reflect on 2015 and dream about the possibilities in 2016.

One of the things that I hope to do more in the new year is to proactively connect with people. Over the past few years my efforts in socialising were beyond pitiful and the energy I once had in maintaining or elevating friendships was close to non-existent. As much as I want to live in a picture-perfect world where I would be in constant contact with people and building a plethora of good and useful network, the reality is that my priorities shifted the moment I found Mr M. I didn’t have enough room for everyone. I was that girl who once snickered at other ladies who seemed to be overly consumed by the relationship that they’re in because they were never around. I became one of them literally.

SO, in the coming year, I want to make a conscious effort to invest in pre-existing as well as new relationships. I plan to put myself out there a little more instead of retreating to my comfy nest. I know for a fact that it’ll take a lot out of me but I’m also aware of the reward that is awaiting at the other end. Some relationships are seriously worth the sweat, don’t you think?

This set of outfit photos was taken en route to a wonderful gathering last weekend (which consequently inspired this post). Both the top and skirt were from my sweet little shop WLLWPOPUP and I cannot stress enough on their versatility (see here, herehere, here and here). They are just great neutral staples to have and I find myself reaching out for them quite a bit, especially in this warm weather. I jazzed up the palette with a hint of gold and what an instant mood-lifter that was! Very festive too I must add.

Have you thought much about things that you may want to take action on next year? I’m not really talking about the “I must go to the gym” or “I must eat less” kind of resolution, but rather that kind of honest, thoughtful things that you would like to see happening. Kindly share away!
