Agh I love my vintage 1950s coat so much! The weather in Sydney hasn’t been cold enough for me to break it out during the day so I jumped at the opportunity and took it to Blackheath knowing how crazy cold and it windy it would be.

The floral print and cut felt so right I couldn’t leave it behind when I first laid my eyes on it at Twisting Vintage in Mittagong (click to read about the trip) a couple of months ago. The hefty price tag rendered it an investment piece but I decided to bite the bullet after a few moments of deliberation. Admittedly the vibrant colours aren’t going to make it an easy coat to pull out and play dress up with but when the mood calls for it, the coat’s worth every single penny. It has also helped to ease that ‘creative slump’ when it comes to maternity (eek) dressing. No wonder I like wearing colours so much these days. Colours have helped me to reset my fashion compass making dressing up a lot more exciting and fun. I’m definitely not complaining!

Do you have any vintage pieces that you cherish in your closet that works especially well during pregnancy?

Ps. I thought it was quite funny that I completely forgot to apply any skincare on my face that day. I thought my skin would dry out throughout the course of the day but it held up pretty well. I think this is the reason why.
