I don’t do fancy dinners that often, maybe once or at most twice a month so I do enjoy special occasions where dressing up is warranted. As part of Mr M’s birthday present (other than being the meal planner for his barbie) I organised dinner for two at a nice restaurant somewhere in Paddington, which is well known for its long shopping strip and funky patrons.
This look was built on 2 premises. Firstly, I wanted to wear something that Mr M had not seen before WHICH was a bit of a challenge (I was once a notorious ”dinner outfit” shopper but I’ve instilled some sense into my head) and secondly, I wanted to wear my neon clutch that I bought recently. After some closet digging, I decided to go for this dress with asymmetrical layers from ZARA as a more conservative approach to match the pop of brightness in my hand.
I got my clutch from BackStage after seeing one of my favourite bloggers Ivania Carpio from love aesthetics carrying a hard transparent clutch in one of her outfit posts. I love the ”transparent” trend but decided against getting the same one as Ivania because its length is a tad too long for my liking (that’s the practical me speaking). I’m more inclined towards wider or shorter clutches and since I’ve never fully embraced neon colours, I thought this clutch is also a good way to play with this trend albeit a little late. Its simple structure is great for dressing up or down with. I’m currently on the hunt for a nice leather coin purse to go with the clutch. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find nice buttery soft ones?
The neck seemed a little bare so I added a big bunch of beads (also shown here) to create more interest and textures.
Although I have not worn these houndstooth/pony hair heels from Nicola Finetti for awhile, they remained one of my favourite pumps to reach for when style and comfort are my major concerns.
Enjoy the rest of the week everyone!

When Coco Chanel invented the little black dress in 1926, she had you in mind! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous is all I can say!
Hahaha! That’s a huge compliment but thank you 😉
Great look, I just bought a double breasted trench coat with zippered pockets at Zara and I can’t wait to wear it!
