I haven’t touched this blog for almost 3 months. Whaaa? How did that happen? Well I kinda know how that happened but still! The weather’s getting warmer but I have all those winter outfit photos that still I want to post! Hang on, in fact, I have a bunch of photos from the previous summer that I have yet to edit (ha) and some photos from NY 2 years ago? Maybe I should just create a post where I dump all those unpublished photos together, not for anything else but my own closure.

We’ve had an eventful past couple of months and that’s totally not an overstatement. There were the good, bad, and stressful times but the delightful thing is that things are beginning to sort themselves out. Of course on-going work would still need to be done to manage the big decisions that we made but this is what life is all about isn’t it? Majority of the time, life isn’t beautiful and glamorous and most people don’t really need a reminder on that.

So where am I fashion-wise? If you scroll back to my previous entries, you can find lots of cool tones because those are what I was attracted to. Blue was my favourite colour for the longest time (it still holds a special place in my heart) but now, as in the last couple of months or so, I’ve started going crazy over a warmer palette. I’m currently loving the whites, creams, browns and cinnamons. Ah, they’re so good! I don’t know what brought about the change really, maybe being in South Africa for a few weeks was a trigger(?) Or was it because I re-discovered dearly Bethany and was just sucked into her world of neutrals? Whatever it is, I find myself stuck on a see-saw trying to satisfy my cravings for warmth but at the same time not overhaul everything that I have. I have to say telling my heart to stop wanting what it wants isn’t easy, especially when it comes to clothing and self-expression.

This outfit here is like a little snack before I even knew that I was going to stuff myself full with courses of warm neutrals and tones. Those Rachel Comey legion jeans are such a treat to own. The cotton is thick enough (no VPLs) and the straight cut is just so versatile. I appreciate a good non-stretchy high-waisted jean these days and they are a dream to wear. The jumper is also a super versatile cotton knit from Bassike, another brand that I’m head over heels about because of their clever and modern designs. I’ve had these pieces for a couple of years and hopefully I would keep reaching out for them because they are truly well made and very simply, deserved to be worn.

I’m hoping to blog more regularly again (how many times have I said this this year?) because it’s one thing that I truly enjoy. If time doesn’t permit, I might start doing short-ish posts that are more picture-focused. I do want to put some substance into each entry that I produce but one has got to be flexible I suppose.

Hope you’re well and I shall see you in my next post!
