5 Things I Love About You

I love the grey merino turtleneck top so much because it’s so incredibly comfortable, chic and easy to care for ie machine washable and doesn’t require ironing.

I love those high-waisted ripped jeans by Grlfrnd so much (admittedly it took me more than a hot minute to like them) because they keep my muffin top at bay, they are not skinny and the wash is just perfect. Oh, I also scored them from an incredible sale at Tuchuzy. ‘Nuff said.

Regardless of my appreciation for a lot of material things, my love for beautiful clothes will never ever surpass my love for mini M. Since we’re on this meaningful/ feel good subject, I thought it would be nice to list out some of the things I love about mini M to remind myself what privilege it really is being a mama. Many a time I felt like quitting because I was ‘over it’ but that little guy just managed to tug my heart strings and pull me back closer than ever. As sleep-deprived and unenergetic as I may feel, I can’t imagine life without him and his (very) funny antics.

Here’s what I love about mini M and yes, I’m totally bias.

#1. Shall we start with the physical? Those luscious cheeks and squishy rolls always win me over. Best of all, I could just pick him up and give him a little bite/squeeze, no questions asked. Many people have also commented on his eyes and I kinda understand why. They are so smiley and they twinkle.

#2. His cute laughters are music to my ears. I could listen to that excited squeal and loud babble all day long. I never thought that making a baby laugh would add such joy to my life. Most of my close friends probably didn’t see this side of me coming.

#3. The way he looks at me kills me most of the time. I still remember that special connection that was instantly formed when we first laid eyes on each other. These days he still searches for me when he’s in the arms of others (even his dada) and that truly makes me feel special and wanted. I just love it when he looks intently into my eyes, as if to tell me that he loves and adores me despite not being a perfect mama

#4. He absolutely loves his bath and I love watching him have fun! I look forward to taking him to his first swimming lesson.

#5. Those early morning selfies we take in bed to kill time are some of my most cherished. We take a lot of them together and he’s getting very good at smiling for the camera (I’m afraid). I’m sure that’s not a good thing (oops) but I love being able to look back on the photos and recall those sweet sweet (albeit tiring) mornings. You can take a glimpse over at my ig stories whenever I’m in the mood to upload some. Today might just be that day.

Love can be so simple and complicated at the same time. Mini M had totally tested me on the boundaries of love in the past 8 months. Although my adoration for him comes naturally, I’m also aware that I need to actively work on being a good parent because that doesn’t come without hard work.

What are some of the wonderful things that you love about your child(ren)?

Ps. The last time I wore this puffer jacket I believe was in Iceland. Totally brought back all the wonderful memories. Wait, has it been 2 years already?
