Dressing Up in 3rd Trimester

It can be a little more difficult to feel good about myself when fashion seems so monotonous hence any occasion that calls for a little bit of fancy is more than welcomed.

As the pregnancy progresses in this last leg of my 3rd trimester, I’ve fallen into a sluggish mode again. Sleep hasn’t been great due to a rather bad case of pregnancy rhinitis (yes I’m one of the ‘unlucky’ 30 something %!) and a much bigger belly means awkward inconvenient movements, breathlessness and exhaustion. I cannot wait to wrap up my work as my legs have begun to swell up with the heat and I’m just over it. I would much rather relax so that I could put myself in a good headspace to welcome mini M.

Dressing up hasn’t been inspiring either as I’ve been recycling a lot of the same pieces without spending a tonne of money on new purchases. It can be a little more difficult to feel good about myself when fashion seems so monotonous hence any occasion that calls for a little bit of fancy is more than welcomed. It’s so wonderful how putting some effort on the outside can make such a massive difference on the inside especially at a time when things are not as flexible as they used to be.

This little embroidered mesh number was purchased at the early stages of my pregnancy and I’m so grateful that I had it hanging in my wardrobe for when an occasion arises. Although I could easily jump on asos to purchase something quickly, it felt so mentally draining to have to sift through a bunch of dresses and convince myself to like something just to fulfil an instant need. I don’t normally buy ‘just in case’ dresses but this one has proven to be very very helpful. For a little bit of quirk and fun, I paired it with some faux fur block heels and this might just be the most fancy Zara ensemble I’ve ever put together lol. As we were attending a wedding, I also went a little heavier on the makeup and boy that made me feel good about myself! I’m not a ‘full makeup’ sort of person but I’ve been experimenting with more complex makeup routines these days and I’m loving it. Sometimes it’s just great to be able to find another avenue and have some fun with it to fill in a momentary gap don’t you think?

I’m wrapping up my day job this week so I’m hoping to shift my focus onto this blog and keep those posts rolling as producing content for girlwithflowers is one great pleasure of mine (when I’m not down and exhausted). Do drop by and say hello once in awhile.

Till then and wishing you a wonderful day!
